Timer Issue?

Hey guys,

New to the site, but hoping you can help. I am having an issue with my sprinkler system and I think it has something to do with my timer (Rain Bird E-9), but not sure. I'll try to explain the best I can.

I have about three sections that will run fine when it's their time, they turn on and shut off ok, however when the next section comes on, the one that just shut off will come back on as well. I have checked the wiring and everything seems to be ok. If I disconnect the wires for that section (that's not supposed to be running) it will shut off.

Also I have two open spaces on my timer that no matter what I hook up to them, it causes the section to run, even when turned off (I have tried numerous sprinkler sections on these and have eliminated an open valve issue)

Is my timer messed up or am I just an idiot? [:D] Any help would be much appreciated. thanks

If the controller is 'off' and some zone terminals are 'live' then you are in the market for a new controller.

Hardie Controller

I'm new to this site - not sure how I got here...

I have recently inherited a system for a shopping center, and have a controller that needs to be programmed. Needless to say, I don't have a manual on the controller. The controller appears to have been manufactured by Hardie in the early '90s. Does anybody have any wonderful words of wisdom on where I might find a manual for this thing (or any other suggestions on how to make it work)? It appears to be functional, but someone appears to have played with the program (prior to my getting this job). There are approximately 20 zones which are controlled, and not all of them appear to be working on a regular schedule.

Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Try Irritrol, which is the brand name the Hardie controllers are manufactured under today.

nelson controller

I have a total of 12 zones and when my timer comes on, the first two zones are normal, then it just shuts off and will not go through the cycle of other zones. The maunual part works on all zones! Is the timer faulty? Do I need a new controller?
