How long can a drip zone be?

I want to use a drip line for my shrubs and was wondering whats the limit as far as how long it can go? Does the same psi/gpm rules that we have in regular sprinkler heads apply here? I am planning on using a kit that screws onto a regular 1" or 3/4" line as a regulator to reduce the psi to 30. I dont know whether I should break it down into multiple zones or if I can have 1 sone just for drip line for ky entire property.
