"Best Practice" advice for raising height of sprinkler heads?

My (formerly new) home is 11 years old now and this summer, I plan to "tune up" my irrigation system for the first time ever. I've been having issues with low water pressure in multiple zones and while troubleshooting that I noticed that many of my sprinkler heads have sunken so deep into the ground that I'm pretty sure I'm going to have to raise their height so they can work effectively again.

I've come across several methods on YouTube:
  1. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eVK2RA15Yic
  2. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EqHMvpj9_5c
  3. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4EsddHrrSqc

Just wanted to get some expert opinions on this.

Thank you!

Forget you ever saw that first video.

The second video is the way to do it if your sprinklers are on swing joints.

The third video is trying to sell that sprinkler removal tool. All you need is a pair of channnellocks.

I don't like using the cut off riser extensions. They break off.

I do it like the third guy but with pvc riser extensions pictured below. I carry 1" length and 1 1/2" length on my truck.

I buy the 1/2 x 1" from My-Tee They're the most efficient online store I've ever seen for any product. I've been using them for 20 years and my items have always arrived the next day. Then again I live in the same state as them. I buy bags of 25 extensions.
The 1 1/2" I have to get at Site-One. I think they're lasco. But don't quote me on that.

I just went to their site and I've noticed something new. The catalog used to be online. I think they have to email it to you.
