Hunter PGV diaphragm issue

Hi all,
Moved into our house 1 year ago and just turned my Hunter system on in October (live in Florida so it rains almost everyday in the summer). Since turning system on I have had to replace the PGV diaphragm in my zone 1 valve 5+ times. The diaphragm is always cut/ruptured along the hard white plastic piece of the diaphragm. As far as I can tell there is nothing sharp that could cut it and the rupture occurs in different locations along that piece with different times intervals from install. Any suggestions on what could cause the failure? The last time it ruptured we were out of town and the system ran for 10+ hours before my neighbor shut it off.
Thanks for the help.
