Sprinklers bubbling

Hi, This may seem like an easy question, but out of the 30 or so sprinklers I have five or six are bubbling up out of the ground when running. The head seems to have sufficient water and if I didn't see the water bubbling up, I wouldn't know I had a problem. The heads are 1/2 Hunter MPG ( initials may be wrong). They are always blown out by a commercial sprinkler co. I plan on digging one up and try to find out going on down below. I thought I would ask for help here first. Thanks for any feedback in this matter.

If you have a helper, you might excavate a head all the way down to its connections, with all dirt dug away. Then have your helper turn on the zone, while you're looking right at the head and its connections. This is a bit extreme, but it saves you from feeling around in muddy water trying to pinpoint a leak you can't see.
