Rainbird ESP-6TM transformer broken. Options?

Hello. I have a Rain Bird ESP-6TM timer and the last time I unplugged it from the wall the transformer disintegrated. It seems no one sells just the replacement transformer online. I'm wondering what my best option would be to replace the entire unit with. I'd prefer to just plug in the same wires to the new unit without much hassle.

that controller can run on any generic 24 VAC plug-in transformer of sufficient power (and you would have to go a ways to find one with insufficient power)

The ESP 6TM transformer is 26.5 V. Does the amperage matter? I found one that's 24v 750 mA, while the 6TM is 26.5, 650mA.
