Loud Bank when Zone 5 cuts off

Background: I live in a KB Home in California that is just over two years old. The front yard was done by KB, and I did my back yard. I designed my backyard sprinklers based on a the Orbit Sprinkler design webpage ( I did the sprinklers almost a year ago, but I just got the grass installed.

The Problem: When zone 5 (backyard) shuts off I get a loud thump where the water comes into my house. Really this water hammer happens for all the zones, but while zone 1-3 are more of a "tap" and 4 is hardly noticeable, 5 sounds like the wall is going to come down any day now.

What is the best way to fix this without digging up my back yard again?

Thanks in advance

Water hammer is due to high water velocity in a pipe coming to a sudden halt when a valve closes. See if you can't reduce that velocity by reducing the flow in that one loud zone, or by splitting it into two zones.
