1.5 inches an hour is good water. clay based. obvious to give a good soaking maybe 2 times a week. since clay holds water rather than letting it soak in it is wise to water a good soak but not too much considering it is cool season turf. you dont wanna turn your lawn to mush. also sometimes no matter what you get soggy turf with clay. in that case maybe a few more times a week but with short times. it all depends on what the drainage of the clay is.
