Rainbird U-series Nozzle

I haven't seen any comments on the U-series nozzles from rainbird (the ones with the double orifices ). I just put a couple in my front lawn where I didn't have overlapping coverage, and they seemed to work great. I realize that if I had the overlap I probably wouldn't need them, but this system was installed 20 years ago, and needs to be redone. In the meantime, this seems to have fixed the bare spots in front of the heads.

I'm glad it helped to temporarily "fix" your problem. I don't have a whole lot of experience in the Rain-Bird products (install Hunter systems), but I have serviced a few systems with the U series, and they seem to work pretty well.

The U-series nozzles are an evolving product. They now catalog them down to 8-foot radii, so I expect they are here to stay. The design concept hearkens to brass nozzles, which often had a slot machined into them, for close-in coverage.
