Controller Woes?

Zone 1 of 6 activated while system was in "off". Cannot get it to shut down. Tried running system manually using "advance" feature. Worked okay. But zone 1 continued to operate. Inspected Program B but display shows no programming. Turned main electric breaker off. Zone 1 still operating. The controller is a Rain Bird ESP-6.

Hi Larry, there's a mechanical problem with the zone 1 valve.

Find the valve and repair or replace it. Possibly just turning down the flow control a bit could fix it. Maybe the solenoid is a tad loose. Maybe there's a switch on the back of it that's in the on position.

What's the make and model of the valve? A picture could help.
