Pressure vacuum breaker pops and water gushes out during sprinkler zone changes

I have a 8 zone Rainbird sprinkler system installed in my house with a PVB from Apollo branded PVB4A . When the sprinklers are turned on (irrespective of being in automatic or manual mode) and when the zone change occurs from zone 4 to zone 5, I see the pressure vacuum breaker pop up and have water gushing out. After that switch happens the PVB cap comes down and the water leak stops. It happens only in that one particular zone change (zone 4 to 5) and does not reoccur during or after other zone changes. I have since changed the PVB to a newer FEBCO unit and it still does not resolve the problem.

Please help in diagnosing the cause of this issue and the appropriate fix to this. If a permanent fix is not available, a workaround would help. Worst case, please help me understand what would be imminent issues if I don't get this resolved.

Look at the zone 4 valve as not closing quickly enough. If it has a flow control, throttle it down a bit, which improves closing reliability.
