How to remove the battery from Nelson 8014

It sounds like you're doing it right. It must be stuck. Cause the manual says to "gently" open the unit. Keep trying.

Low sprinkler pressure. Help!

What does it say on that black tag? Moody something? Is there a model number? Basically, anything you can make out would be helpful. Maybe break the tag off to see it better.

Sprinkler System Issue

Sounds like you've misidentified zone 3. The valve you changed is really zone 2. No worries, we've all done it.

Pressure issues...completely lost

Quoted from "Wet_Boots" Quoted from "mrfixit" Try this Click on me. See if you can activate the solenoid using three 9 volt batteries. Do it at the valve. That 'activator' might better be made from only two 9-volt batteries. Solenoids can have a must-operate spec of 18 VAC, and one manufacturer gave a spec of their valve solenoids being operable with 12 VDC (for solar-recharged lead/acid battery-powered controllers) Then why are controllers transformers 24 volts? Maybe the manufacturer means a ...

Take the valve back apart to see if you've squashed the nipple in there or if the diaphragm is turned. It's easy to do with that valve.

Rotator Sprays not working after winter

If the valve is on and flowing but the sprinklers don't work, there must be a breach in the line somewhere. Let it run longer and keep looking. Might take 1/2 hour to show itself. Sometimes the leak is under cement and shows itself a long way from the area where the sprinklers are. Sometimes the water goes down a gopher hole and comes up in the neighbors yard. Sometimes the pipes are deep and the ground is sandy so it takes a long time to show. Look for dark green spots in the lawn from it getti...

Pressure issues...completely lost

Unscrew one of the sprinklers to see if there's pressure. Maybe every single one is clogged up. They could be on marlex ells which can completely clog if there's been a broken pipe. Could be a clogged pipe. Maybe you've installed the valve backwards. Look for the arrow. Completely take the bleeder screw out. Does the valve come on fully?

Zone 4 Issue

Do you have a voltmeter? Make sure the time is putting out about the same voltage as the working zones. Now check the ohms to see if the wire is cut. Infinity means the wire is cut. A higher than normal reading means there's a bad splice. It could also be the solenoid. The reading should be similar to a solenoid that's working. Troubleshoot the wiring < Click on this

valve wont shut off

Unless someone's taken the metering pin out, the APR diaphragm wont go into a DPR valve. That could be the guy's problem. I've never seen it done but supposing someone bought the wrong diaphragms and pulled the pin to make them fit.

valve wont shut off

Even though I never see that valve body crack, it is 16 years old. Could be a crack in there somewhere. I think there's only one option left and you know what that is.

valve wont shut off

Take the valve apart and see if all the pieces are in there. There should be a spring and the support along with the diaphragm. Make sure the solenoids are snug clockwise. Flush out the valves when you have them taken apart. Could be debris in there. That's about it unless you've installed the valves backwards.

Hello all. Question about rainsensors

I've been answering specific questions lately I usually don't. I live in So. Cal where I rarely see rain sensors. In 25 years I've installed 5. That's a total of 2 customers that wanted them. I've seen 3 or 4 already installed. I should have skipped this one. With that said, Is there supposed to be a jumper pin installed? I was going under the assumption that the old Hunter sensor was bad because the battery only last a few years and I assumed the new one wasn't compatible via the sen terminal b...

Hello all. Question about rainsensors

It doesn't have to interrupt the programming. It just disconnects the common wire so the running program doesn't activate the valves. Read page 2. I'd venture to say that the original sensor is bad. Maybe reset the SRC.

Deciding number of zones

It's impossible to tell from here. I can't see your yard or your design. I can't see the stats. Water pressure and flow rate. I don't normally design systems. I just repair them. So I'm the guy who sees where the installer made his mistakes. What I do know is that I'm not a fan of the Hunter MP Rotators. Some people swear by them. Sprinklers are supposed to get head to head coverage. Which design is doing that? Is the second guy cutting too many corners? Maybe he's trying to be as water conserva...

Sprinkler system keeps cycling over and over

We see this question multiple times a year. Check the "start" times. There should only be ONE start time then the valves will run in sequence and not start over. Check all the programs. A-B-C... Only A should be on unless part of your yard has a different schedule from the rest. So, one start time on program A.

Zone 1 and 3 come on at the same time.

The wires are touching somewhere. Look for bare wires at the valves. Look anywhere the wires might be above ground. I see bare wires where they exit a building. Sometimes rats will chew on them inside a garage or shed. Do any digging lately or pound a stake into the ground where the wires may have been damaged? Check the wiring at the valves and make sure two of them aren't wired together.
