It looks like the anti-syphon cap is broken due to high water pressure. It's a very simple fix. Don't pay a guy to do it.
Go to an irrigation supply store. They might sell just the cap. If not just buy the whole valve and swap out caps. Then you'll have other spare parts for later or in case I'm wrong and the whole valve needs replacing. It looks like a 1" Rainbird ASV valve to me.

Hmm, does it leak all of the time or just when the sprinklers are running?

Water Valve is channeling the Power of Posiedon

My Sprinkler front Valve is currently channeling the power of Posiedon (see above link). I'm not sure even where to start. Please note, I am the idiot, brand new, never lifted a hammer, homeowner. I'm trying to take more of a responsibleres around the house and I figure this is a great way to start.
